About/History

Ungarra Primary School is a small rural school located on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia (80 kilometers Nort of Port Lincoln). It was established in 1914 to serve the educational needs of families in the Ungarra region and its surrounds. Originally opened to accommodate the children of local farming families, the school has played an integral role in the community for more than a century. Throughout its history, Ungarra Primary School has provided quality primary education, adapting to changes in curriculum, enrolment, and teaching methods. The school continues to focus on supporting students academically and socially, fostering strong community ties, and maintaining traditions typical of rural South Australian schools.

We currently have 33 students enrolled at Ungarra Primary School. Our enrolment figures have been steady over the past three years. Our school is split into two classes; Foundation – Year 2 and Year 3 – Year 6.
